As a sculptor & scholar, my professional accomplishments include: an Athena Fellowship/Socrates Sculpture Park residency; a residency at the Scottish Sculpture Workshop in Lumsden Scotland; 4 Minnesota State Arts Board grants; a McKnight Fellowship; twice a Bush Foundation Fellowship finalist, Walker Art Center Open Studio Day; numerous faculty travel grants; & a Mayor’s Design Award, Public Art St Paul. Invited as a visiting Artist-in-Residence/Assistant Professor. I’ve initiated, chaired panels, & presented well-received original papers at many professional conferences.

I’ve initiated & chaired panels, & presented professional papers at the International Sculpture Conference, Mid-America Sculpture Conference, & the National Women’s Studies Association. I’ve been on selection committees for the Minnesota State Arts Board, nominated for the National Council of Arts Administrators, & in 2014 invited to participate as a selection committee panelist for the Arizona Commission on the Arts/Community Investment Grant Level III.

For more than a decade, I was a visiting artist/assistant professor on short-term contracts including the sculpture technician at Bennington College, faculty at the Minneapolis College of Art & Design, Lawrence University, Appleton WI; the College of Visual Arts, St. Paul, MN; Denison University, Columbus OH; the University of North Texas; a Chianti Foundation summer children’s art class.

In 2001, I was one of two Education Consultants for a pre-accreditation review of the Visual Arts Department at Southeastern Louisiana University, Hammond. I began my full-time teaching career as the Sculpture Technician at Bennington College.

My curatorial experience includes being the Graduate Exhibitions Coordinator/FORUM at the Cranbrook Museum of Art while earning my MFA, & by invitation was the assistant to curator Jon Hendricks for the first ever exhibition of Yoko Ono’s cast bronze sculptures, held at the Cranbrook Academy of Art Museum. I worked closely with architect Simon Beeson & sculptor/numismalogist Nicola Moss on MAKING/THINKING: Artists Build - PER KIRKEBY Drawings & Terra Cottas Exhibition at the Matthews Gallery, Dept of Architecture Univ of Edinburgh and the exhibition SCULPTING THE CITY: THE DANISH EXPERIENCE - The Role of Artist’s in Public Space & City Planning at the Danish Cultural Institute, Edinburgh Scotland. I’ve also curated & juried numerous regional exhibitions, & organized the first Young Sculptors Room at an International Sculpture Conference.
